The difference between critics and insults here

Hi there

I just read a few comments from a particular user here during the last few days and feel the urge to say something about it, so this is going to be a not so positive post, I am sorry for that.

What happend: this person commented on some of my pics in the artistic nude section, complaining about too much nudity, asking what this is all about, why someone should even buy my prints and that i don't do art (cause I photograph nudes as well) and (confusing me with the model) asking why I need to be nude in photos and if I would do that also in general or just when it 'seems' to be artistic.
After answering that person started calling me arrogant (I don't mind that actually, I get to hear that sometimes) and wanted to insult me, by implying that I must be stupid / unable to understand what he is saying, cause I am a girl / because I am young, I must be arrogant and considering myself as a true artist without a reason for that and asking if i shoot nudes to show my professional work. About that last part: I know even know what that means...

Unfortunately, I am not able to anser his comments - I guess I got blocked- so as I didn't want to leave insulting comments unter my pics uncommented, I marked some as spam.

So here comes what I really find annoying about all that:
This person just used prejudices against me and assumptions without knowing anything about me or my photography. Assuming I do 'professional' work, assuming I consider myself a big artist, assuming i was the model, etc.. etc.. none of the assumtions were true, many of them would have been clear if he had read the least in my profile. The most disturbing thing to me was that i didn't have the feeling that he wanted to criticize my work or some of it, but that he wanted to rant about it, just because some of them are artistic nudes and he seemed to have a problem with that.
I don't know why he did/does that and what he hopes to attain with that. I don't think he really wanted me or other photographers to stop shooting these, cause if you want people to stop doing something, insulting them is usually not very effective. So what is that all about in the end?? Insulting to feel more powerful/ feel better/ make the other one feel bad/ ... ? I really don't know.

It's not the first time, that I've heard things like that but it was over several days and several pics.
I just hate when that happens, cause I hate it when people confuse the right to say their oppinion with ranting and insulting someone. The worst thing is, when they are unwilling or incapable to see this differance and to understand logic and explenations.

I have nothing against critics, feel free to always citicize my work, if you want. I can't promise you that I will agree with you all the time, sometimes I will, sometimes I woun't. Feel free to think whatever you want about my work, but there is not need to insult artists or their models.
