Hi there,
my last journal entry was about the 45 000 visits my photostream on flickr had. This one is about how my stream there got marked restricted for at least 30 days and therefore not visible for users outside of flickr....
I must have uploaded a pic 2 months ago that was not 'safe' but 'moderated', but I did't mark it that way.
Moderated pics can not be shared at all with people outside of flickr and flickr member don't see that they even exist, if their settings are the original ones (usual case).
Not safe and moderated marked are also pics there of models for exaple wearing a normal shirt and a thong or if you can see a bit of a breast, it does not even have to be nude, but covered, that can be too much too.
I was just wondering how my work can be 'not safe' or in other words dangerous to people.
I am not speaking of full frontal nudes or something like that, but just well -- the pics I take. Just have a look her and tell me what so dangerous about them but how there is nothing wrong with pictures of cruel violence.
If there only was the possibility to still share them with people by having them agree to want to see unsafe pics, but that is not possible if you don't have a flickr account.
I must admit that it makes me a bit angry and sad at the same time, because I feel like i am treated like someone who shares something illeal or so, when it's just some fine art nude photography. Most of the time not even really nude ...
Well I guess there is nothing I can do.
I thought of changing the platform and going to picasa or somewhere else, but I don't want to loose my contacts and visitors there.
So, do you have an idea of what I could do?

Die wahre Herausforderung und Kunst, wenn man mit Aktfotos Geld verdienen möchte, ist, in einer zunehmend "verklemmten" Web-Umwelt auf die eigene Arbeit aufmerksam zu machen und diejenigen zu erreichen, die sich dafür interessieren. Ich hab's aufgegeben ...
Ne eigene Webseite, die ich gleichzeitig als Backup verwenden kann, dh alle bearbeiteten Bilder in voller Auflösung für immer speichern kann, ist mir zu aufwändig.
If I were you, I'd set up my own website, have it comply with coppa policy (basically a splash page for entry with an 'I certify I am of age' button to enter, along with a privacy statement), and then post whatever you want. Advertise the hell out of it, like on DA, and you can set your own policies. Should you decide to go this way, there are many options open to you, and I'm sure you could find plenty of people on DA and elsewhere who would be happy to help you with any problems or design considerations you may have. Es ist vollkommen lächerlich deine Bilder auch nur in die Nähe von irgend etwas zu rücken, das irgend jemandem schaden könnte.
Wenn Kinder (oder Arbeitskollegen) den Anblick einer Frau im Bikini nicht ertragen können ohne anschließend eine Therapie zu brauchen, dann stimmt etwas mit den Kindern / Arbeitskollegen nicht und nicht mit dem Bild.
Wie auch immer,... das Klima wird in den letzten Jahren mehr und mehr puritanisch und besonders Firmen im US Einflussbereich achten inquisitorisch gründlich darauf, dass um Gottes Willen (der wird immer gerne als Argumentationshilfe benutzt) nichts nacktes oder auch nur angedeutet nacktes...oder bedecktes nacktes unter die Augen der Unschuldigen gerät. Und es spielt kaum noch eine Rolle, ob ein beanstandeter Content nun legal ist oder nicht.
Konzerne wie flickr / Google / facebook / myspace und letztendlich auch dA bilden da keine Ausnahme. Das besondere Problem bei diesen Monopolisten ist, dass einige wenige, oder sogar nur einer die Richtung des ganzen Apparats vorgibt. Wenn "Mr/Mrs Flickr" dann sagt "Oh my gooood, I'm sick of nudity" dann kannst du dich schon mal nach einer Neuen Heimat für deine Bilder umschauen.
Und da ich nicht an einen Aufstand der Gerechten gegen diesen Unsinn glaube, ist das auch mein Tipp:
Bau dir eine eigene Webseite. Das ist eine Menge Arbeit und wird vielleicht auch ein bisschen was kosten. Aber wenn du nicht die Absicht hast, ins Fach Architekturfotografie oder Landschaftsmalerei oder dergleichen zu wechseln, dann ist das meiner Meinung nach der einzige Weg, dir deine Freiheit zu bewahren.
Aber was auch immer du tust, wünsch ich dir, dass du bald über diese ärgerlich blöde Geschichte hinweg bist.
Ja, ich fürchte die Menge an Bilder in der Auflösung selbst zu lagern, wird teuer. Eine HP zur Darstellung meiner Fotografie habe ich ja, aber darauf zeige ich nur eine kleine Auswahl.
Will jemand konkret etwas suchen in meinen Aktaufnahmen, so wird auf meiner Hompage bisher dafür viel zu wenig geboten und es soll dort übersichtlich bleiben.
Wie Du schon sagst, die einzige Lösung ist die genannte.
