Hi again
and thanks for all the responses to my last journal entry.
First I have to clarify: I think that most people that say that i shoot like a girl, don't mean it in a negative way. They often express it by adding that my pics are so romantic and fragile or something like that.
I just always wondered why ppl think that this might have something to do with me being female. When ppl learn about my job, meaning that I am a mathematician, they seem to be surprised, like that wouldn't be typical female. Although then my photographic work looks typically female to them. I was wondering if that idea came up before or after knowing that I am a girl.
Regarding my models: I think it's true that they feel more relaxed with a girl as a photographer and that it helps with the photos then. But I also think that it is a real benefit for my work as a photographer that i used to model myself (well and sometimes still do), 'cause I usually know exactly what poses and expressions I want and how to get there

and being a woman I think I know how women like to look or to be portrait, so yes: usually my model's really like the work we do together and how they look in our photos.
But there are disadvantages too... sometimes people are like 'what, you are gestiefeltekatze?? I thought you were a man. Wow, didn't expect a woman to take these pictures. And you are so young, too!'. -Like that seems so be so unbelievable as me being a mathematician. So I guess my pics don't always look like they have been taken by a young woman....
